Taking to Twitter, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared a time-lapse video of the expressway, displaying progress of roadwork alongside the freeway. At the moment the Delhi-Meerut expressway is operational in phases.

The DME includes 4 phases of which section 1 (Akshardham to UP Gate) and section 3 ( Dasna to Hapur) are operational. Section 2 (UP Gate to Dasna) and section 4 (Dasna to Meerut ) are beneath building. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the inspiration stone for the Delhi-Meerut Expressway challenge on December 31, 2015. In November 2019, the deadline of the expressway was revised to Could 2020, which has now been prolonged.
