Pranab Mukherjee dies at 84: Ajay Devgn says ‘India loses an amazing statesman’, Taapsee Pannu says he’ll be missed – bollywood

Bollywood stars have condoled the demise of former Indian President, Pranab Mukherjee who died in Delhi on Monday night. A number of actors and filmmakers took to social media to share tributes.

Actor Taapsee Pannu remembered how warmly he hosted the group of Pink over dinner. “Had the honour of assembly him, watching #Pink in his presence , adopted by a really warmly hosted dinner for your entire group. Can always remember the expertise, his type phrases n gesture that day. You can be missed sir #PranabMukherjee,” she wrote.


Rakul Preet Singh wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing away of former president Shri Pranab Mukherjee! My condolences to his household . Yet one more Loss in 2020. #RIP” Ajay Devgn paid condolences to his household saying, “India loses an amazing statesman & revered chief My condolences to the household. #PranabMukherjee”



Riteish Deshmukh shared a photograph with the Mukherjee and wrote, “Deeply Saddened!! A giant loss for India. Former President of India Hon Shri #PranabMukherjee Sir will likely be ceaselessly remembered for his work & contribution for the event of India. My deepest condolences to @ABHIJIT_LS ji, your entire household & his tens of millions of followers.” Farhan Akhtar wrote, “Deepest condolences to the household of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. @CitiznMukherjee RIP.”

Mukherjee, 84, died on Monday in a military hospital in New Delhi, his son Abhijit Mukherjee mentioned. He was admitted to the hospital on August 10. In a sequence of tweets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote that in his decades-long political journey, Mukherjee made long-lasting contributions in key financial and strategic ministries and that he was an impressive parliamentarian, all the time well-prepared, extraordinarily articulate in addition to witty.

“I used to be new to Delhi in 2014. From Day 1, I used to be blessed to have the steering, help and blessings of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. I’ll all the time cherish my interactions with him. Condolences to his household, buddies, admirers and supporters throughout India. Om Shanti,” Modi mentioned.
