Two minor sisters had been allegedly gangraped in north Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district final Friday (September 4), after which they tried to kill themselves. One of many women died on Monday.
“Three individuals had been arrested in reference to the alleged crime, whereas two different suspects are nonetheless on the run,” stated Khageshwar Roy, a member of the West Bengal legislative meeting (MLA) from the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
“The 2 sisters, aged 14 and 16, had visited a backyard close to their home final Friday night. They had been allegedly gangraped. They returned house and tried to kill themsleves. Later, they had been rushed to a hospital. The older sister died within the hospital on Monday. The youthful sister is battling for her life,” Roy added.
Roy represents Rajganj meeting constituency, the place the alleged crime came about.
Nevertheless, West Bengal Police are tight-lipped concerning the incident.
PK Yadav, superintendent of police (SP), Jalpaiguri, remained incommunicado.
