‘We hugged & cried’: Raina reveals Dhoni’s response post-retirement; offers cause for selecting August 15 date

Suresh Raina has revealed that he and MS Dhoni “hugged and cried” after saying their retirement from worldwide cricket.

Indian former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and batsman Suresh Raina made a sudden announcement to retire from worldwide cricket on Saturday. Whereas Dhoni introduced his retirement at “1929 hrs”, Raina joined his captain in calling time on his India profession merely an hour later.

Now, in a dialog with Indian newspaper Dainik Jagran, Raina revealed the rationale behind selecting the August 15-date for his or her retirements, and likewise revealed how MS Dhoni reacted submit the announcement.

“I knew Dhoni would announce his retirement upon reaching Chennai, so I used to be prepared. I, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar and Karn Sharma reached Ranchi on 14th with the chartered airplane, and picked up Mahi bhai and Monu Singh,” mentioned Raina.

“After saying our retirement, we hugged and cried lots. I, Piyush, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and Karn sat collectively after that, talked about our careers and our relationship. We partied through the evening.”

Dhoni and Raina can be seen in motion collectively within the upcoming version of the Indian Premier League, which is able to start on September 19 within the United Arab Emirates.
