Husband punches shark to save lots of spouse in Australian shark assault

The Sydney Morning Herald mentioned that Chantelle Doyle, 35, was attacked by the two to three metre (6-1/2 ft to 10 ft) shark whereas browsing at Shelly Seashore, and suffered extreme lacerations to her proper leg.

It quoted Surf Life Saving NSW chief government Steven Pearce as saying Doyle’s husband jumped off his surfboard and onto the shark.

“This fella paddled over and jumped off his board onto the shark and hit it to get it to launch her after which assisted her again into the seashore,” Pearce mentioned. “Fairly full on, actually heroic.”

The Herald, which didn’t title the husband, mentioned Doyle was handled on the scene by bystanders and paramedics after which flown to hospital, the place she was in secure situation.

Seashores within the Port Macquarie space have been closed after the incident, Surf Life Saving NSW mentioned in an announcement, including it was offering coastal surveillance of the realm to assist spot the shark.
